Insurance Participation
Managed Care and Insurance
We participate with many insurance companies (please see the list below). Participation means we have contracted with those insurance companies to provide medical care to their (the insurance company’s) clients. We will file insurance claims for your visits to the office. You are still responsible for any copayments and deductibles.
The rules and coverages for each insurance company, and for different plans in one insurance company are different. It is important that you understand the coverage your plan offers and which rules you must follow. For example, some plans will cover preventive care such as physicals and some will not.
Most HMOs and many PPO’s require you to see your PCP (primary care physician) prior to seeing a specialist or obtaining certain procedures. Please be aware of your plan’s requirements. See also the section on referrals.
Our office will try to help you navigate the rules of insurance and managed care, but in the end you are responsible for payment of services from the office. Please contact your company’s benefits office or the website for your insurance plan for further information.
