I (akh) have the pleasure and privilege of playing in some fine musical groups in the area. If you are a fan of music, check out some of these groups.
The next Manassas Symphony Orchestra www.manassassymphony.org concert is Saturday May 3 at 7:30 p.m. It is titled a Musical Kaleidoscope.
The Capital Wind Symphony www.capitalwindsymphony.org will perform on Sunday February 19 at 7 p.m. at the Vienna Presbyterian Church. This concert is dedicated to Dr. William Revelli, legendary director of the University of Michigan bands. Link to concert poster.
The Virginia Grand Military Band www.vgmb.com will perform on Saturday February 18 at 8 p.m. at the Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria. This is a new venue for the group this year. This is a Musical Salute to Karl King and Leonard Smith.
My trio, the Phoenix Winds, will play a recital on May 3 at 2 p.m. on the center stage of the Hunter's Wood Community Center. This will be a varied program for woodwind trio; clarinet, oboe and bassoon. This is part of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, "Meet the Artists" series and is a joint presentation with the Hunter's Wood Community Center.
